This image was planned as header bg pic for my portfolio/comic page redesign. Of course people on DA had to insist I color it. It couldn't be painted because it's in a sketchbook and covered in photoblue pencil. So I will use the color version now instead.

Due to someone totaling my car this week (grrrr >_<), I decided to go through all the older prints I have and put a lot of them on sale. I'd like to discontinue some of them since I've improved so much. There's a few I only have 1 or 3 of which I'll delete when they sell. Also finally put up prints of Undine Spell.

Saturday I decided I'd try drawing my own manga "screentones" to use digitally. That way I can save time yet still have something handmade that looks how I might ink it anyway. Filled two pages with cross hatches so far.

I dug out the supplies I'd collected for making cameos a long time ago and decided to do something with them. I originally started with more complicated chains and stopped making those in favor of something simpler. Hopefully I can get better at this with more practice.

Started finding some display stuff for Dragon Con. Thanks to the genius at Etsy who suggested I get a wooden dish drying back to put prints in. It's much smaller than most of the magazine racks or print racks made for art. May have to actually make foldable cloth boxes for other stuff.

Attempting to try local honey for allergies (will probably just fail like everything else), but it tastes good anyway.

I'm happy I finally got supplies to get back to making cel phone charms again.

Shaaarks on a plane!

The image on the right was step 3. I flipped my scan and was able to trace the other side of the border. I tightened up a lot of the lines in the skirt and added the lace design to the parasol before inking and then sketched in a background. Step 4 is a digital thumbnail used to choose colors I will paint with (I don't always do this).

On the right is my thumbnail sketch which was only a couple inches high. I scanned it, adjusted the contrast and then printed it out the size the want to paint. I use that as reference when I draw the final drawing that will be painted. On the left is the current stage I am at. I will print this out mirrored and use it to draw the other side of the border so it ends up symmetrical.

One small problem with ending up known as a "fairy artist" is that people keep asking me to paint more fairies, when sometimes all I really want to do is draw cute pandas. Here's the first one. There may be more.

I have a bit of a problem. I registered for a table, intending to be attending the con. Unfortunately both roommates I had are no longer going and I can't afford to have the room alone. Does anyone know artists who are sure they are attending and might have extra room in their room or don't have a room? I don't mind if I have to sleep on the floor.
